Which Transport Leader would you like to hear?

Overview

The IPENZ Transportation Group's annual conference is New Zealand's premier forum for the traffic engineering, road safety and transportation planning community.  The conference is intended to stimulate debate and problem-solving amongst peers.  Well over 200 professionals attend the annual event, which has been running for more than 40 years.

The 2016 conference will return to Auckland for the first time since 2011. The conference promises to be bigger and bolder than ever with a wide range of thought-provoking presentations and healthy discussion amongst thought leaders and industry professionals.  The conference presents a unique opportunity to network and share ideas across our diverse and wide-ranging industry.

The 2016 IPENZ Transportation Group conference will provide delegates with a stage. Together we will demonstrate how design, technology and innovation in transport can and do combine to make our cities and rural heartland world-class liveable places.

Design.Innovation.
Technology.

At the heart of transportation is design. All transport professionals are designers of places where people live, work and play. We design planning frameworks to make trade-offs. We design infrastructure to deliver people and goods safely and efficiently. We design methods to communicate data, analysis and predictions about where the future is going.

Technology is changing the way that we do our jobs like never before. We need to adapt fast; to be on the front foot when new technologies can help our industry deliver better outcomes. Embracing technological change in transportation is essential. We need to share what we have learned about technology with our peers, so that together we can challenge and advance our practice for a thriving New Zealand.

New Zealand is a proud country of innovators. We are small and agile. Our competitive advantage is in our readiness to take new ideas and run with them. Innovation is about more than thinking about change – it is demonstrating how new, smart approaches can solve real problems and keep our country moving forward.
